High Lonesome Project

Robert Allison is a 4th generation West Texas Rancher and an OwnEnergy partner. In 2002, Mr. Allison decided to augment his livestock business by adding a wind farm to his property. His entrepreneurial nature, business savvy and natural curiosity led him to learn about wind energy and complete many important early aspects of project development including wind measurement and transmission fatal flaw analysis.

Mr. Allison later realized that he needed a partner with deep renewable energy development and finance experience to make his wind business a reality. He chose OwnEnergy. Since joining forces, Allison Wind and OwnEnergy have successfully moved the High Lonesome project from the Conceptual to Pre-Construction stage. The initial 10 Megawatts  phase will enter construction in 2008.

Through his long-term ownership stake in the project, Robert Allison will generate a 25-year stream of annual cash that far exceeds what he would have received from a typical wind lease. This will ensure that the Allison family will continue to prosper on this beautiful mesa for many generations to come.
